You Are!

You are the glue
Your love never changes
And your compassions are new every morning
You are amazing and perfect in all your ways
Yes!! You are the glue
That not only seals and fills me
But restores me everyday!
You are the lover of my soul

Jesus You Are!

"Energy Re-Directed, back on the Right Track"

My my my, it has been a mighty long time since we sat down for a little conversation (me sharing with you and you reading what I am sharing with you).  Ok now that I think about it that is a one sided conversation, yet I digress.

Sooo today I stumbled upon (this is also a pretty awesome website Stumbleupon.com) an article that really touched on a somewhat sensitive topic for me.  Well Blissful, what topic is that?  I know I know, perked your curiousity just a bit right?  I read about the emotional struggle so many women face in regards to their body image!!  In the United States, we are such a media driven society and that media (television, movies, music videos, magazines etc.) have created a very very dysfunctional view of what it means to be "Fly", Fine, Super Bad, Beautiful, Gorgeous, Sexy, Irresistable" and so on.  Most women that, by media's standards, fit into these categories are depicted as a size 0-6

and in "Real Life" most women fluctuate between a 10-14.  Amazing that the pictures of the perfect (doesn't really exist) woman are stuck so stubbornly in our minds. We view these pictures mentally more times in a day than many of us would ever let on. They are usually non-realistic and PHOTO-SHOPPED to boot (ain't nobody got time for that stinkin' thinkin')!

I read this mind altering article (for really real, it altered my stinkin' thinkin'), it reminded me of one simple truth that somehow I had forgotten and that is: "When talking about weight and self image, remember that you can only compare yourself today with yourself yesterday, and work to improve yourself. "  The article titled, "A Plus Size Model’s Message to Women: Believe in Your Own Beauty" (can be found at http://www.tlvfaces.com/a-plus-size-models-message-to-women-believe-in-your-own-beauty/).  After reading this one statement and looking at pictures of some healthy and visually stunning women,

my energy was re-directed and I can say I am officially back on the right track.

I'm taking a deep breath and jumping back into a healthier way of living. I am again getting laser focused and determined to be a better me today than I was yesterday.

Self Love, Your First Love

Happy Valentine's Day to you, you and ME!!!!  Valentine's Day normally evokes many visions, commercials, feelings (some good and some not so much) and desires.  Rose petals, candlelight, dinner, music, candy, teddy bears, lingerie, mystery dates and a good sweaty work out!!! WHAT???? Sweaty and work out...are you saying to yourself...what is this lady drinking over there??? Ok, ok let me clarify.  This morning I was attempting to hype myself up to go work out and I had a light bulb moment, walk with me people.  If I indeed believe (which I whole heartedly do) that God loves me and I in turn am a reflection of His love, then I owe it to God and myself to love myself...right?  RIGHT!  Love being an action word means that I not only say I have love for myself but I show it in the way I treat ME (mind, body and spirit).  I strive to live in the present moment, I eat well but as healthy as possible, I release stress

to someone who is more equipped to handle it (than I am)..GOD and I work my temple out regularly.  Take time to care for your body (it actually has a built in set of instructions if we but listen a little closer).  Other than getting back to walking regularly to love on me, I have also stumbled upon a natural moisturizing body butter that my elbows and feet absolutely LOVE called "Butterfly Butter", created by Ms. Adrienne Roach.  This is a perfect little treat for you, especially to maintain in between pedicures to keep the feet sweet

Self love is truly Your First Love!  It is the love that allows us to flourish and fulfill our divine purpose (yes no matter who you are, where you are in your life...you have a DIVINE PURPOSE).  Be still, listen, drink water, work out, pamper yourself (Men, Women and Children).

Who is your Hero?

Do you realize that as you go about your daily routine, working, going to school, caring for your family, pursuing your passions and your dreams, that people are watching you?  You may feel like your going in circles, doing the same thing day after day and getting nowhere, but know there are still people observing you. They are respecting your efforts and the progress you are indeed making but sadly are not able to see yourself.  It seems that many times it is a major challenge for US to see our own SUPER HERO capes (brilliant in color) flying in the wind due to the fact that it is  socially more acceptable, encouraged and reinforced thru commercials and the media to look outside ourselves to find our heroes.   What would happen if we taught our children from birth, the importance of BEING their OWN HERO?  If we raised them to be someone they could admire and respect?  How about AWESOME & AMAZING young adults we would be releasing into the world?  Yes, Yes and Yes!!! Let's take a little challenge.  Think about your personal heroes, those people who you not only respect but also somewhat admire.  Take a clean sheet of paper and write down the following:
1) Their Names
2) The things about your heroes that you admire
3)Things you admire about yourself (Please Do Not Skip This Part of the Challenge)
4)Review #3 Again and if it is blank, take some time and come back to it.
5)If you truly have nothing for #3, it's ok.  Now comes the adventure!  Set out to re-create a YOU that you could look up to (Your Own Hero)!!

Who is your Hero?  Remember, it is never ever to late for the answer to be...Me, Myself and I.
